Our Mission

PME Charitable Group is dedicated to improving the lives of children, families, veterans, and communities through charitable giving, community partnerships, volunteerism, and the annual Los Rancheros Fishing Tournament. By bringing together anglers, sponsors, and supporters, we help create meaningful opportunities and lasting impact throughout Baja California and beyond.

Our Story

Los Rancheros was founded in 2007 by Chris Kirkley, Lester Massengale, and Marty Dufek. What began as a small fishing tournament built around friendship, community, and a shared love for Loreto soon grew into a charitable effort dedicated to helping children and families in need.

In 2010, tournament leadership transitioned to John Porter, who expanded the event's charitable mission and fundraising efforts. Over the years, participants, sponsors, volunteers, and donors have helped support numerous charitable organizations, schools, and community programs throughout Baja California.

One of the group's earliest commitments was supporting the Internado School in Loreto, helping provide educational opportunities for children who otherwise may not have had access to them. As community needs evolved, the organization expanded its efforts to include partnerships with Onco Loreto and Casa Hogar La Esperanza, supporting children and families facing medical, economic, and personal hardships.

Today, PME Charitable Group continues its mission through the Los Rancheros Fishing Tournament, with a primary focus on supporting Onco Loreto and Casa Hogar La Esperanza while honoring the spirit of generosity, community, and service that inspired its founders nearly two decades ago.
